The unglamorous middle
Preparation is rarely exciting. It is the session planned in detail, the opposition studied, the budget built, the proposal shaped before the meeting. It is the part nobody sees — and the part that most reliably decides how things turn out.
Why smaller teams struggle with it
The problem is not that smaller teams do not know preparation matters. It is that they do not have the hands to do it. When one or two people carry coaching, admin and the business side, preparation is the first thing squeezed — not because it is unimportant, but because there is no time.
Doing more with the people you have
This is where the right tools change things. If the drafting, structuring and analysing can be done in a fraction of the time, preparation stops being the thing that gets dropped. The people already there can prepare like a much bigger operation — and the results, in time, follow the preparation, as they always do.
